Andrew John Bennett, 25, Hays, was arrested Wednesday in Palco on suspicion of the Nov. 17 robbery of Love's Country Store, Hays.
According to a press release from Ellis County Attorney Tom Drees, Ellis County District Court issued an arrest warrant for Bennett on Jan. 5 on suspicion of the robbery, following an investigation by the Hays Police Department.
A team of law enforcement officers from the Rooks County Sheriff's Office, Plainville Police Department, Graham County Sheriff's office and the Kansas Highway Patrol attempted to arrest Bennett in Palco, where Bennett fled from the officers.
After a brief chase, the officers arrested Bennett. He is being held in the Ellis County Jail where he remains in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
Bennett also is on bond awaiting further proceedings in a Colorado Springs criminal case, in which it is alleged he committed attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
