WSU offers information night Sept. 21

Wichita State University will host an information night for area high school juniors and seniors and their parents Sept. 21 at Gutierrez Mexican Restaurant in Hays.
"Discover WSU" will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant at 1106 E. 27th, where each student and one guest will be treated to a free meal. Additional guests can eat for $10 each.
Students will learn about admissions, scholarships, financial aid, housing, academic majors and more at Wichita State. In addition, the students will get a chance to win a $1,000 WSU scholarship for the 2011-12 school year. To be eligible, students must either be admitted to Wichita State or apply at the event.

Sign-up deadline coming for TMP parade
Anyone wanting to enter a float in the Thomas More Prep-Marian High School homecoming parade still has a couple of days to do so.
Deadline to sign up for the parade is Friday, and those interested in participating can sign up by calling the school's alumni office at (785) 625-9434.
The Monarchs' 2010 homecoming is set for Sept. 24. The parade down Main Street, which annually precedes the homecoming football game, will begin at 6 p.m. Line-up is at 5 p.m. on the TMP campus at 1701 Hall.
TMP tailgate party for first home game Friday
Thomas More Prep-Marian High School's Sports Booster Club is hosting a tailgate party before Friday's home opener at Lewis Field Stadium.
A freewill offering meal of hamburgers and hotdogs will be served beginning at 5 p.m. on the east side of the stadium.
The Monarchs (1-0) then will entertain Russell (0-1) at 7 p.m.
