Fort Hays State University's Department of Technology Studies is calling for volunteers to help make toys for the annual Toys for Tots program in Hays.

FHSU students and instructors, as well as community volunteers, each year gather in FHSU's Davis Hall to help assemble wooden toys for Christmas gifts for children in need.

This marks the 20th year of the toy building, which will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday in Davis 168.

A total of 200 toys will be assembled; a lot of the preparation work, such as wood cutting, is done beforehand by students in FHSU's production systems class.

This year's toy will be a biplane.

Children are welcome to help Saturday, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
