Hospital organizes meetings on sales tax

WaKEENEY -- A series of community meetings have been scheduled by Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital to discuss the proposed 1-percent sales tax.

While it's being billed as a health care tax, much of the money will go to the hospital.

All of the scheduled meetings will be in the Western Electric Cooperative meeting room.

Dates currently set:

* 3 and 7 p.m. Thursday.

* 3 and 7 p.m. Feb. 21.

* 7 p.m. Feb. 25.

* 7 p.m. Feb. 28.

Hospital CEO Harold Courtois said he is willing to conduct neighborhood meetings or appear at civic groups if invited.
