Police investigate reports of shot-out car windows

Printer-friendly version

Car window after car window was pelted overnight, apparently by someone driving around town.

They were armed with either a BB or pellet gun, according to Hays Police Lt. Don Scheibler.

All told, about 20 car windows were damaged, although the numbers continue to climb.

The vandals, he said, appear to have been "someone driving around shooting from a vehicle."

That makes for a difficult case to crack, considering they weren't in one spot for long.

"Officers are still taking reports," Scheibler said this morning.

Anyone with information about the vandalism, he said, should call (785) 625-1011, which will put callers directly in touch with dispatchers.
