Two people sustained injuries Thursday when a tree crashed into their house in Stockton.

Both were treated and released from the Rooks County Health Center.

Rooks County public information officer Candace Rachel said straight-line winds and hail caused widespread damage across the northern part of the county.

Most of the damage was done to roofs, windows, trees and power poles.

"A string of transmission lines ... were snapped off with power lines down," Rachel said.

Power was restored to the area within a couple of hours.
