The Hays Larks kept their unbeaten streak alive with a 10-7 victory on the road Tuesday against the Liberal Bee Jays.

The Larks now have won their first five games and are 2-0 in the Jayhawk League.

The Bee Jays (3-1, 1-1 Jayhawk) struggled to slow down the Larks, surrendering 17 hits.

Larks third baseman Joe Betcher led the team offensively and finished 4-of-5 hitting with two RBIs and two runs scored, and second baseman Zair Koeiman and first baseman Brett Lang each went 3 of 5 at the plate.

Falling behind 7-1 after three innings, the Larks rallied in the fourth to tie it and scored a run in the seventh and two runs in the ninth to win it.

Austin Cox (1-0) took over pitching in the third and allowed two hits in 32βΡ3 innings to earn the victory.

The Larks play at 7 p.m. Friday at El Dorado in their first three-game Jayhawk League series of the season.

Hays and El Dorado are tied atop the Jayhawk League standings in the early going.
