Leo Baum and Loretta Cronn, Hoisington, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 12, 2009, with a celebration hosted by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Hoisington American Legion, 204 N. Main. The couple requests no gifts.

The beginning of their life together found them living and raising their family in Paradise in northern Russell County. They moved to Hoisington in 1970, when he began working at the helium plant in Otis. He spent many years in the oilfield working for Red Tiger and Mohawk Petroleum. Upon his retirement from the oilfield, he worked as the night supervisor at Great Bend Feeding. She worked for 20 years at Fuller Brush, Great Bend, and retired in 1992. She has also worked for Clara Barton Hospital and Anne's Accents, Hoisington.

The couple are active in the Church of the Nazarene, Hoisington.

Children of the couple are Leo and Vicky Baum, Odessa, Texas; Gordon and Karen Baum, Elkview, W.Va.; Terry Hekele, Great Bend, and the late Leota Hekele; and Joe and Ginger Cotten, and David and Brenda Roat, all of Hoisington.

The couple have 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
