(MCT) A 75-year-old Butler County woman died early Sunday in a fire that broke out in her mobile home on Santa Fe Lake Road in Douglass.

The fire, which apparently started in the kitchen, broke out at about 12:45 a.m.

Fire crews reported the home, in the 18000 block of Santa Fe Lake Road, had collapsed and only a portion of a wall was standing, according to information from Butler County Fire District No. 3.

Once the fire was controlled, firefighters discovered the woman, tentatively identified as Lydia Cox, in the rubble.

Her family has been notified.

The home was a total loss and a vehicle parked nearby was damaged by the heat, the information said.

The home was not insured, and a dollar estimate has not been determined.

Fourteen firefighters, a fire investigator and several deputies from the Butler County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.

A cause has not been determined, and the fire is still under investigation.
