TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) -- Attorneys for two brothers who were shot by an off-duty Topeka police officer have filed claims seeking more than $47 million from the city.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reported that the claims were filed March 3 by attorneys for Daniel and Deven Llamas and two women. Attorneys would not specify the women's relationship to the two men.

The attorneys say they will file a lawsuit against the city on or before March 18.

The claims accuse the city of negligence and conspiracy, and say the brothers suffered serious injuries in the shooting.

The Llamas brothers were shot after a group got into a confrontation with off-duty Topeka officers during a St. Patrick's Day party on March 18, 2008.
