TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) -- An adult in south-central Kansas who became ill last month has been confirmed as the state's first flu case of the season.
The Kansas City Star (http://bit.ly/VAvrRc) reports the Kansas Department of Health and Environment announced the laboratory-confirmed case on Tuesday.
Flu cases typically increase during the holidays and peaks around February. Last year's flu season didn't peak until mid-March was the latest on record in Kansas.
KDHE says there's still time to get flu shots.
