KU officials to announce gift to business school

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Officials at the University of Kansas are preparing to announce what they call a major gift to the School of Business.

In a statement Wednesday, the university said the gift amounts to eight figures and will be "transformational." But university spokeswoman Jill Jess declined to name the donor or specify the amount of the gift before Thursday afternoon's announcement at the Lied (leed) Center.

Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little and Business School Dean Neeli Bendapudi will participate.
