TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) -- The Kansas Supreme Court is looking for divorced parents who've paid or received child support to serve on an advisory committee. The group would recommend changes in the guidelines that judges use to determine how much one parent must pay a former spouse.

The state's highest court is publicly asking people to submit applications for appointments to the Child Support Guidelines Advisory Committee. The court is looking to fill four community member positions.

The advisory committee works to make sure that the rules on child support in Kansas are based on sound economic data and take into account the varied circumstances facing families.

The four members will help analyze of national trends in spending on children and recommend changes for review by the Supreme Court.
