Man arrested after slapping businessman

A Hutchinson man was arrested Tuesday after slapping the owner of a local business.

Benjamin Simmons, 31, entered Bob's Trading Post, 308 N. Main St., just after 2 p.m. asking for money. According to Sgt. Eric Buller, Bob Turner, the store owner, responded with a negative comment and Simmons slapped Turner and fled the store.

Turner reported the incident to the Hutchinson police; they located Simmons at 20 E. Fourth Ave. and arrested him on suspicion of battery.
