WICHITA -- A man was seriously wounded in a stabbing Thursday night in a downtown Wichita bar, authorities said.

A second man suffered minor injuries and police reported an arrest in the case, but a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said it was unclear from initial reports whether the person arrested is a third individual or the man with minor wounds.

The incident was reported shortly after 8 p.m. at J's Lounge, 513 E. Central, the supervisor said. A 40-year-old man was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in critical condition with stab wounds to his abdomen and leg.

The second victim was found a short distance away at apartments in the 500 block of Central, the supervisor said. An arrest was made at 8:20 p.m.

It was still unclear what led to the stabbing at the bar, the supervisor said.
