Overland Park drive-by shooting injures child

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) -- An 8-year-old boy has been injured in a drive-by shooting in suburban Overland Park.

The Kansas City Star reports (http://bit.ly/1g04G0Q ) the boy was shot late Monday when a gunman fired into the boy's home. The child was in the home with his mother and two other children when the shooting occurred.

Police say the boy was taken to a hospital with injuries that don't appear life-threatening.

The shooting is under investigation, and police say there had been no arrests as of Tuesday morning.
