Pedestrian dies after he's hit by car in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Police say an elderly man died after he was hit by a car in downtown Wichita.

The man, believed to be 80 years old, was not using a crosswalk when he was hit Tuesday evening by a car going about 30 mph.

Police say the driver said he didn't see the victim crossing the street.

The man's name has not been released.
