WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Wichita police say one person died after an accident involving a man fleeing from police.

Police Capt. Max Tenbrook says the chase began Tuesday when an officer saw a pickup truck that had been reported stolen. Police called off the chase after a short time because the driver was being reckless.

Tenbrook says the truck ran a stop sign and hit another pickup. One of the drivers was killed and the other was injured.
