A Wichita man and woman were transported to the hospital after a rollover accident that occurred early Wednesday morning.

According to the Reno County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived to the home of an individual at 10011 E. Fourth Ave at 4:48 a.m. who reported a male, Jacob Rucker, 21, and Elizabeth Fanning, 21, arrived to their doorstep to use the phone. The individual informed law enforcement that Rucker and Fanning were in an accident, but they didn't know the location of their vehicles.

Rucker was driving a 2005 Pontiac GTO eastbound on Fourth Avenue when he ran a stop sign at Fourth Avenue and Buhler Road. Rucker then lost control of the vehicle and rolled it several times into a field on the south side of Fourth Ave, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Rucker could not remember what had happened and could only tell deputies they were headed to Wichita. Fanning was transported to Wichita where she is listed in serious condition. Rucker was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for unknown injuries, but he since has been treated and released.

Both Rucker and Fanning reported wearing their seat belts. The accident is still under investigation.
