Mo. cop charged with dealing drugs near school

Eds: APNewsNow.

ATCHISON, Kan. (AP) -- A Missouri police officer has been arrested by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation on suspicion of selling a controlled substance near an Atchinson, Kan., school.

KBI officials say 26-year-old Kyle Zumbrunn was arrested Tuesday after selling a suspected controlled substance to an undercover KBI agent.

Zumbrunn is a police officer with the Weston, Mo., Police Department. He is charged with selling a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and using a telephone to facilitate the deal.

The KBI got involved in the case after the Atchison Police Department requested its help. The Missouri State Highway Patrol also took part in the investigation.
