Fort Riley soldiers to march for toys

Eds: APNewsNow.

FORT RILEY, Kan. (AP) -- Soldiers from Fort Riley's 1st Sustainment Brigade will be hitting the roads of the Kansas Army post for a good cause.

The soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division will host their annual toy march for needy children on Dec. 7. The route will cover 4.5 miles over the post in north-central Kansas.

In previous years, family members carried the toys over the route while the soldiers were deployed to war in Iraq. The soldiers will march from one of their operations buildings to the Operation Santa Claus Headquarters at Fort Riley.
