Eds: APNewsNow.
LYONS, Kan. (AP) -- The owners of a Lyons pharmacy and a pharmacist at the business have been sentenced in the operation of an Internet-based "pill mill" case.
Mark and Jolane Poindexter, the former owners of Hogan's Pharmacy in Lyons, were sentenced Wednesday in Rice County District Court to one year of probation. Mark Poindexter will also serve a 90-day jail sentence.
Rick Kloxin, a former pharmacist at Hogan's, was sentenced to six months of unsupervised probation.
The defendants were accused of distributing prescription drugs to people based on online questionnaires. Prosecutors say the pharmacy filled between 600 and 1,200 Internet prescriptions every day.
The state closed the pharmacy in March 2008.
