Suspect arrested in Lyon's death

Eds: APNewsNow.

LYONS, Kan. (AP) -- A 35-year-old Lyons man has been arrested in connection with the slaying of a Lyons woman.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said Monday the suspect was taken into custody Sunday but has not been formally charged. Officials would not say where the suspect was being held.

The body of 31-year-old Jeannie Jacobsen was discovered Sunday in her Lyons home, where the door had been kicked in. The cause of death has not been released.

Bruce Mellor, special agent for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, said the suspect was an acquaintance of Jacobsen's and that the investigation was continuing.
