2 dead after hotel shooting in Salina, Kan.

Eds: APNewsNow.

SALINA, Kan. (AP) -- A Salina man shot his former wife and another man at a hotel, critically wounding his former wife and killing the man, and then later killed himself.

Deputy Police Chief Carson Mansfield says 49-year-old Mario Chavez was found dead in a vehicle Thursday night. That was several hours after Chavez's former wife, Rose Marie Chavez, and Charles Raymond Losey, both of Salina, were shot at a hotel where they worked.

Police say Losey died late Thursday at a hospital and Rosa Marie Chavez was in critical condition Friday.

Police had been seeking Mario Chavez for questioning in the hotel shooting. He was found dead in his car about 8:40 p.m. Thursday after a brief police chase. Police say he apparently shot himself.
