Eds: APNewsNow.

PAOLA, Kan. (AP) -- A northeast Kansas sheriff's office has asked for help identifying a woman found dead near U.S. 69 south of Louisburg.

Miami County deputies found the partially clothed body just before 8 a.m. Wednesday along the highway about 40 miles south of Kansas City.

The body is described as that of a dark-haired white woman in her late 20s or early 30s. She was wearing a black T-shirt with the words "Backyard Burgers" on the front.

Investigators said the body likely had been there less than 24 hours.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office also is investigating.

The Miami County sheriff asked anyone with information about the woman or who might have seen anything suspicious to call (913) 294-4444.
