The most amazing thing about my life is Jesus Christ. This includes Jesus living in me, and him living in other brothers and sisters in Christ. Christ living in a person is more amazing than the few experiences I have had in hearing God's voice. This is more amazing than any miraculous healing I've seen.
The most amazing thing about Jesus for me is to experience his power in changing a person's life from seeing one's self as most important to seeing others as more important. In Philippians 2:3-4, the Apostle Paul tells Christians to "do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others."
This transforming power of Christ changed the course of my life from being filled with religious self-interest to loving people. Jesus set the example by loving me, especially by dying for me as an undeserving person. The greatest joy I get to experience as a pastor is to see Jesus bring his transformation into other people's lives. I am in God's family with brothers and sisters who've come from a diverse background filled with self-centered living and have received Jesus by faith into their lives, which has brought miraculous changes.
This family includes people who've been model citizens to prison inmates, society's successes to society's failures. In Christ, I get the joy of seeing that no human being is impossible, that with Christ every person is God's miraculous possibility. If you don't know this truth, I pray that you will come to know it.
