Charles W. "Chuck" Nighswonger, 90, Hill City, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at Fountain View Nursing Home, Rose Hill.
He was born Sept. 4, 1923, in St. Francis to Homer and Emma (Miller) Nighswonger.
He married Gleva Koester on July 24, 1952, in McCook, Neb. He was a Farmers Home Administration supervisor. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Hill City; two sons, Monte Nighswonger, New Zealand, and Ted Nighswonger, Lenora; a daughter, Kim D. Waugh, Wichita; a brother, Troy "Tuff" Nighswonger, Seattle; a sister, Sharon Havens, Arizona; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hill City United Methodist Church; private family burial will be at a later date in Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, WaKeeney.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to Dawson Place Nursing Home, American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer's Association in care of Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City.
