Robert "Melvin" Sisk, 87, Russell, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at Wheatland Nursing Center, Russell.
He was born May 21, 1926, in Huntsville, Ala., to James and Lillie Ann (Smith) Sisk.
He married Peggy Crumrine on July 19, 1947, in Madison County, Ala. She preceded him in death Sept. 30, 2002. He was a farmer, owned a dry cleaning business and worked in an upholstery and drapery shop. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War II.
He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, of which he was a former deacon, in Russell.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra L. Childers and husband, Melvin, Russell; a brother, Marvin Sisk, Huntsville; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Dwayne Sisk; two daughters, Delores Ann Sisk and Patsy Carol Sisk; four brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bible Baptist Church, Russell; burial in Russell City Cemetery.
Friends can call from 1 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
