Barbara Zimmerman, Hays, has been selected as 2008 Daughter of the Year by members of Isabella Circle No. 254.
Zimmerman has been an Isabella member for 23 years. She serves as an auditor, and also served as bearer, guide and treasurer.
Zimmerman is an active volunteer member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, and serves with her husband, Kenny, on the Stewardship/Hospitality Commission. Zimmerman volunteers serving funeral dinners at her church, is chairwoman for the Daughters of Isabella Sweet Shoppe in the fall and was an original organizer of St. Nicholas' Ladies Guild.
She serves as secretary and has had various other positions in the organization.
Zimmerman has been employed at St. John's Assisted Living Center for 10 years.
She has two children, a son, Scott; and a daughter, Kathy. She has seven grandchildren and a step-grandchild.
" I am proud to be a member of Isabella Circle No. 254," Zimmerman said. "One of the most moving and touching experiences I ever had was to be initiated through the long-form conferral of degrees."
Zimmmerman will be honored by local circle members at the annual Mother-Daughter Breakfast, May 4, following 8:30 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
