Anita M. Ruder, 73, Salina, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at McCall Manor, Salina.
She was born July 26, 1940, in La Crosse to Stephen and Anna (Kreutzer) Herrman.
She married Gerald L. Ruder on Sept. 5, 1960, in Hays. She was an office manager and bookkeeper.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, and was active with the sorority Beta Sigma Phi for more than 40 years.
She enjoyed reading, bowling, polka music, crocheting, cooking, bingo and spending time with family and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, of the home in Salina; a son, Michael Ruder and wife, Rita, Lexington, S.C.; two daughters, Denise Cart and husband, Jeff, Salina, and Sheila Hite and husband, Andrew, Olathe; a brother, Stephen Herrman Jr. and wife, Caroleen, Hayward, Calif.; three sisters, Leona Klein, Ellinwood, Betty Martell, Hays, and Frances Holopirek, Timken; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Munsch, Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; 10 grandchildren, Shannon Shelton, Amanda Aslin, Nicole Larm, Alec Hite, Paige Ruder, Caleb Hite, Jeffrey Hite, Allyson Ruder, Austin Cart and Connor Cart; and two great-grandchildren, Addison Shelton and Cameron Hackney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and four sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine.
A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, followed by a parish at 7 p.m., both at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to Kaye Pogue Hospice Center, Salina, in care of the funeral home.
