NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

OFFICE OF CITY CLERK HAYS, KANSAS

Sealed bids, subject to the conditions contained herein, will be received by the City of Hays, Kansas, at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, until 3:00 pm, Prevailing Time March 21st, 2017 for the construction of approximately 8,961 square yards of removal and replacement of the existing concrete pavement on 8th Street from Milner Street to Vine Street. In addition, new driveways and sidewalks will be constructed along the project. Waterline improvements will be completed at the Riley Street Intersection.

At said time and place, and promptly thereafter, all Proposals that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashier’s check, a certified check or a bid bond, payable to the City of Hays, Kansas, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid.

Each bidder to whom a contract for the work is awarded will be required to furnish a Contract Bond and a Payment Bond executed on the specified forms and acceptable to the City of Hays, Kansas, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract.

Plans and specifications are on file and may be examined, at the office of the Public Works Director, 1002 Vine Street, Hays, Kansas, and at the offices of the Consulting Engineer,

Plans and Contract Documents may be obtained from the Consulting Engineers for a fee of $100.00 made payable to the Consulting Engineer. Electronic Copies of the Plans and Contract Document are available from the Consulting Engineer for a fee of $30.00. To obtain an electronic copy of the Plans and Contract Documents email the Project Manager, Buck Driggs at bdriggs@driggsdesign.com.

The City of Hays reserves the right to reject or accept any and all bids/proposals, to waive any irregularities in such bids/proposals, and to accept such bids/proposals that are the most responsive and best suits the City of Hays.

No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the written consent of the City of Hays, Kansas.
