* The Hays Chapter of AARP will have its monthly meeting in the Heritage Room located at the Hadley Center Bakery Shop entrance at 230 East Eighth Street, Hays. Luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by the business meeting and program at noon. Program: Mike Stephens will have a display of Civil War and World War II paraphernalia. He will also do a presentation on these items. Members and non-members are invited to attend.

* The Shooting Stars Square Dance Club will have a square dance, 8 to 10:30 p.m. at Roosevelt Elementary, 2000 MacArthur, Hays. Bob Tucker will call the squares. Everyone is welcome, singles and couples. All ages.

Guest speaker is Breck Heller, firefighter and instructor in the Fire Science Department of Hutchinson Community College. His topic will cover fire safety in the home. Meetings are free of charge and open to anyone who is interested.
