Larry the Cable Guy, REO Speedwagon heading to Stiefel

Special to the HDN SALINA -- Six shows were announced for the 2014 winter lineup at the Stiefel Theatre for the Performing Arts, including performances by comedian Larry the Cable Guy and 1970s rock band REO Speedwagon.

Larry the Cable Guy will perform two concerts Feb. 28, at the historic theater. REO Speedwagon, whose hits include "Take It on the Run," "Keep on Loving You" and "Can't Fight This Feeling," will be in concert March 14.

The other acts will be: Country singer Marty Stuart, March 22; Roger McGuinn of the Byrds, May 9; and Wichita Grand Opera, May 30.

There also will be a performance of the musical "Seussical" on Feb. 12; banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck with Abigail Washburn, Feb. 15; actor/musician Ronny Cox, Feb. 16; and a rescheduled appearance by author/humorist David Sedaris on March 13.

Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Nov. 22 at the theater box office and at ticketmaster.com.
