Q: What's the largest basketball arena in the Big 12? I think it's Allen Fieldhouse, but the arena at Nebraska looks pretty big on TV. -- Just curious.
A: It's close, but it isn't the largest. I've listed them from largest seating capacity to smallest in the Big 12:
* Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas in Austin, home of the Longhorns, seats 16,755.
* Allen Fieldhouse at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, home of the Jayhawks, seats 16,300.
* United Spirit Arena at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, home of the Red Raiders, seats 15,091.
* Mizzou Arena at the University of Missouri in Columbia, home of the Tigers, seats 15,061.
* Hilton Coliseum at Iowa State University in Ames, home of the Cyclones, seats 14,356.
* Gallagher-Iba Arena at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, home of the Cowboys, seats 13,611.
* Bob Devaney Sports Center at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, home of the Cornhuskers, seats 13,595.
* Reed Arena at Texas A&M University in College Station, home of the Aggies, seats 12,989.
* Bramlage Coliseum at Kansas State University in Manhattan, home of the Wildcats, seats 12,528.
* Lloyd Noble Center at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, home of the Sooners, seats 12,000.
* Coors Events Center at the University of Colorado in Boulder, home of the Buffaloes, seats 11,064.
* Ferrell Center at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, home of the Bears, seats 10,284.
The oldest is Oklahoma State's Gallagher-Iba Arena. It was built in 1938.
The newest is Missouri's Mizzou Arena, built in 2004.
Allen Fieldhouse was built in 1955, just so you know.
