Ladies Day Out scheduled for March 27 in La Crosse

LA CROSSE -- After a late season winter storm resulted in the cancelation of last year's event, vendors and patrons alike are excited for the return of Ladies Days Out. The fifth event hosted by Rush County Nursing Home will be from 8 a.m. to noon March 27 at the Parish Hall in La Crosse.

Doors will open at 8 a.m. for women to enjoy breakfast and have time for early shopping and browsing at the many booths. Beginning at 9, there will be seminars to delight and inspire the participants. Additional time will be available for booth viewing. Door prizes will be given throughout the event.

The event is $5, and a ticket is needed for admittance. Tickets the day of the event will be $6. Tickets can be purchased at Farmers Bank and Trust or Nekoma State Bank, both of La Crosse, or by calling the nursing home at (785) 222-2574.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Rush County fire departments.

An added feature of this year's event is baby-sitting services. The baby-sitting will be provided by Girl Scout Troop No. 10134 and will be located at the Kid's Corner business. The cost is $10 per child and $5 for the second child. Reservations must be made with Ginger Graf at (785) 432-0778.

Seminars planned include: * "Taking Care of your Largest Organ," presented by Paula Kuhn.

* "Women and their Cardiovascular Health," presented by Dodie Martin, PA of Rush County.

* "I'm looking for Balance Because I'm a Woman on the Edge," by Rosa Wilson.

A sample of the participants include Scentsy, SAK'S Beaded Jewelry, Books R Fun, Mary Kay cosmetics, Homemade Gourmet, Arbonne International, Tupperware, Avon and Pampered Chef.

Sponsors include Golden Belt Telephone Association, Rush Center; Flame Engineering; Linde Global Helium; State Farm Insurance and agent Diz Washaliski; Sims Insurance, Maize; La Crosse Abstract and Title; Nekoma State Bank, La Crosse; Rush County Insurance; Community Bank of Otis; Agency One Insurance; Rick's Food Store; and Hoyt Pharmacy.
