Baked Meatloaf Sandwiches

Baked Meatloaf Sandwich

4 sourdough, French or
   hard rolls
1 5 oz can evaporated milk
1 small onion, minced
1 lb. Lean ground beef
1 egg, slightly beaten
salt and pepper to taste

Cut a thin slice off the top of the rolls (save). Scoop the soft bread from the inside of the roll. Measure 2 cups of soft bread chunks. Put bread chunks in a large mixing bowl and mix with evaporated milk. Let set for 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. With clean hands mix all ingredients together. Place rolls in a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Fill rolls with meat mixture and top with slice cut from the top. Bake in preheated 350° F oven  and bake 45-60 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
