Frozen Cabbage Salad

Salad

1 head cabbage, shredded
1 carrot, shredded
onion, optional
peppers, optional
1 tablespoon pickling salt

Dressing

1 cup vinegar
¼ cup water
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon celery seed
¼ cup salad oil

Mix together salad ingredients.  Let stand one hour and drain.

Boil all dressing ingredients except oil. Add oil to dressing. Pour dressing over cabbage while hot. Cool, and freeze. Thaw before serving.
