Sunday's sunrise Easter Service and pancake feed at the Maier Angus Ranch featured Cowboys for Christ Minister Glenn Spencer of St. Joseph, Mo., and music from Mike Webb of Natoma. Hosts for the service, Iva and Martin Maier also of Natoma, moved Sunday's activities inside once the rain started falling Saturday evening.
"Although we'd like to have seen a better turnout, we cannot be upset because it is finally raining," Iva Maier said. The rain cancelled the trail ride was scheduled to begin after the pancake feed.
Set inside the Maier's historic barn with horses and cats milling about, Spencer delivered the day's sermon just as sunlight broke over the valley. Webb, of the Broken W Ranch, treated the congregation to vocals and guitar. Following the service, the crowd moved to the Maier's granary for pancakes, eggs and sausage before heading home to the delight of continued rainfall.
