Verle B. Marvin, 60, La Crosse, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at his home.
He was born Nov. 27, 1953, in Ransom to Earl Leon and Laurene Elizabeth (Friess) Marvin. He was a 1972 graduate of La Crosse High School.
He married Diana Elizabeth Rapier on Dec. 27, 1980, in La Crosse. He was a foreman for KBK Industries, Rush Center, for 38 years prior to retirement. He was a U.S Army veteran, serving in Fort Leonardwood, Mo., and Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Marvin, La Crosse; a son, Jeremiah Marvin and wife, Amber, La Crosse; three brothers, Gerald Marvin, La Crosse, Merle Marvin and wife, Deanne, Holdrege, Neb., and Gayle Marvin and wife, Cecelia, South Berwick, Maine; two sisters, Susan Sharp and husband, Gerry, Mankato, and Nancy Donnell, Saginaw, Texas; two grandchildren, Taylor Lynne Marvin and Kendra Elizabeth Marvin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis Marvin.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, La Crosse; burial in La Crosse City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, and from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. Monday at the church.
A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the V Foundation for Cancer Research, Hospice at Hays Medical Center or an education fund for Taylor and Kendra Marvin in care of the funeral home.
