Alyssa Ashley Klaus and Joshua James Dechant were married July 26, 2008, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, with Father Kevin Weber officiating.
Parents of the couple are Jan V. and Josette Klaus, and Lawrence and Joan Dechant, all of Hays.
Grandparents of the couple are Esther Schmidt, the late Alfred "Al" Schmidt, Theresa Klaus, the late Kenneth Klaus, the late Joseph and Caroline Kisner, and the late Nicholas and Rosella Dechant.
The bride was escorted by her father.
Honor attendant was Kaley Klaus, sister of the bride. Attendants were Meagan Carver and Danel Goheen, friends of the couple, and Kelli Holtshouser, cousin of the bride.
Best man was York Kisner, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Blake Klaus and Trenton Klaus, both cousins of the bride and Justin Cline, friend of the couple. Ushers were Ed Holtshouser, Terry Klaus and Keith Schmidt, all uncles of the bride, and Harold Kisner, uncle of the groom.
Candlelighters were Anastasia Gifford, cousin of the groom, and Jordan Cline, friend of the couple. Miniature bride was Chloe Holtshouser, cousin and godchild of the bride.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Hays High School and a 2008 graduate of Fort Hays State University. She is an instructor at Jackie Creamer's The Dance Studio.
The bridegroom is a 2004 graduate of HHS and plans to graduate in May from FHSU. He is self-employed.
Following a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the newlyweds are at home in Hays.
