Kevin Daniels will be the new pastor at the Hays Christian Church, 22nd and Marshall, and will arrive with his family next week from Kent, Wash.

He and his wife, Lori, have two young children, Logan and Camryn. He has been serving as associate minister at Valley View Christian Church, Kent, performing the full range of pastoral duties.

Daniels received his bachelor's degree in Bible/family ministry at Manhattan Christian College in 2003. While in Manhattan, he served as youth minister in Soldier.

He received his master of divinity degree at Mars Hill Graduate School, Seattle.

The family will attend services for the first time Jan. 18. to introduce themselves. Daniels will present his first sermon on Jan. 25.

On Sunday, Betty Rupp will be the speaker with the topic, "Prayer Or Prayerlessness." Rupp is active in Hays Christian Women's Club and has been the Sunday School superintendent at Hays Christian Church for many years. Rupp and her husband, Dean, have two sons and two daughters.

Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m., with church at 10:45 a.m. every Sunday.
