Two Hays High School seniors who have been on stage together since fourth grade are looking forward to the final production of their high school careers.
Samantha Rohleder and Rachel Muirhead are two of 18 students who will bring "Ask Any Girl" to the public Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 12th Street Auditorium.
The two-hour, three-act romantic comedy is based on a book by Winifred Wolfe that was transformed into a 1959 movie.
Muirhead plays the lead female role in "Ask Any Girl," portraying Meg Wheeler, who travels to New York after graduating from an all girls' college in a small town, looking to broaden her horizons.
Muirhead started broadening her horizons in real life when she got her start on stage with Heartland Community Theater while in fourth grade.
"It's definitely allowed me to get out of my box and be more comfortable speaking in front of people," she said. "Now, I don't get nervous at all."
Rohleder started with Heartland at a younger age.
"It's created a lot of opportunities that I never thought would be there," said Rohleder, who has been acting since she was 8.
She added she is looking forward to her high school finale, then hopes to continue her career on stage at Fort Hays State University.
"I've known some of these people since fourth grade," she said. "It's nice to share a stage with them."
Tickets for the production, which starts at 7 p.m. each day, are $5 in advance and $6 at the door for adults, and $3 in advance and $4 at the door for students.
All tickets are general admission and can be purchased at the high school office.
