I would like to publicly thank the creative Hays homeowner living at the corner of 23rd and Allen streets. Each morning, I pass his house on my morning trek to work. Each time, I see pink flamingos arranged in yet another new design on his yard.

Some days, the colored birds stand at attention, all in a row. Other days, they're poised in a circle or zigzag pattern on the lawn. I just never know what I might see -- in fact, I noticed recently the pink flock doubled!

This might seem like an insignificant thing to some people, but the care and love shown to these plastic fowls brings me much joy. For anyone needing a bright touch to his or her day, I highly recommend traveling past. It's worth the trip.
