Deborah Ann Marie 'Debbie' Rupp

Deborah Ann Marie "Debbie" Rupp, 54, Hays, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at her home after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was born Dec. 29, 1958, in Hays to Charles and Viola (Dinkel) Rupp. She was a person of great will and strength. At age 46, she received her GED.

She was a hard worker and was loved by all of her co-workers. Her favorite downtime was riding her ATV and spending time with friends and family. She was a friend to many and a great companion, daughter, sister and aunt.

Survivors include her parents, Hays; two brothers, Bernie Rupp, Hays, and Vernon Rupp and wife, Mellisa, Kansas City; her longtime companion, Darren Briet, Hays; her nieces and nephews, Danielle (Rupp) Bornholdt and husband, John, Hutchinson; her great-nephews, Laine Werth, Hutchinson, and B.J. and wife, Dena Rupp, Hays; her great-nieces, Kinley and Madisyn Rupp, Hays; nephew, Landon Rupp and niece, Lauren Minick-Rupp, Kansas City; along with her four-legged nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine; inurnment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.

Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hays Medical Center or donations for a park bench in memory to be decided at a later date in care of the funeral home.
