Douglas L. 'Doug' Seltmann

Douglas L. "Doug" Seltmann, 63, Hays, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Hays Medical Center.

He was born March 9, 1949, in Great Bend to Gilbert and Shirley (Moore) Seltmann. He was raised in Nekoma, attended school in Alexander and was a graduate of La Crosse High School. He moved to Hays in 2010 from Liberty, Mo.

He married Barbara Peach on Aug. 7, 1970, in La Crosse. He was a postmaster in McCracken and retired in 2000 after working 20 years in the postal service.

He played in the Sun Country Band for 30 years and enjoyed music, reading, puzzles and his family.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Rick Seltmann and significant other, Shanna, and Ryan Seltmann and wife, Melissa, all of Hays, and Ronnie Joe Seltmann and wife, Mary, Liberty; his mother, Rush Center; a sister, Cindy Hemken and husband, Stan, Choctaw, Okla.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Orlando and Vera Peach, La Crosse; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601; inurnment in Mount Allen Cemetery, Hays.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the family of Douglas Seltmann in care of the mortuary.
