Elizabeth J. 'Betty' Ploutz

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Ploutz, 73, Russell, formerly of Ellis, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Russell Regional Hospital.

She was born March 10, 1937, in Ellis to Rudolph and Katherine (Beer) Windholz. She graduated from Ellis Catholic High School.

She married Frank H. Ploutz on Jan. 10, 1954, in Raton, N.M. He preceded her in death Feb. 24, 2005. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons, Jack Ploutz, Bison, James Ploutz and Jeff Ploutz, both of Russell, and Justin Ploutz, Rozel; four daughters, Caroline Orcutt, Ramah, Colo., Raileene Ramsey, Pam Ramsey and Valerie Ramsey, all of Russell; two brothers, Vernon Windholz and Kenny Windholz, both of Ellis; four sisters, Kathleen Wolf, Goldie Dinkle and Thelma Spinks, all of Ellis, and Roseann Billinger, Hays; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell; burial in Michaelis Cemetery, south of Russell.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present from 6 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to Betty Ploutz Memorial Fund in care of the mortuary.
