FHSU Foundation still 'feeding the Tiger'

The Fort Hays State University Foundation, the nonprofit fundraising arm of FHSU, has partnered with seven local organizations to provide matching gift sponsorships for the third annual I Fed the Tiger campaign.

Any gift made at through Dec. 19 can be doubled by matching sponsors. Giving a $25 gift would result in a $50 difference and a $100 gift would amount to $200.

Businesses and organizations involved include Brian Ruder Agency, Cerv's, McDonald's, Emprise Bank, Gutierrez Cocina Mexicana, the Meckenstock Group and the FHSU Foundation's Young Advisory Committee -- a group of young FHSU supporters.

Each of these young professionals rose to the challenge and committed to funding a share of the final $1,000 of the matching sponsorship themselves. This group exemplifies leading by example and are shinning examples of what it means to be a Tiger.

The campaign is not a replacement of traditional methods of fundraising, such as the phonathon or direct mail, but is instead an addition.

Communication preferences and the technological landscape certainly won't stop changing anytime soon, and the FHSU Foundation is committed to keeping pace.

The campaign is coming to a close for the year, but the Sternberg Museum of Natural History matching gift from McDonald's is not yet completely spoken for. If people want to help put FHSU over the edge, double your money, and find one last charitable tax deduction before the year ends, people are encourage to visit and pledge your support.

FHSU and the community of Hays are linked. What happens to one affects the other.
