Albuquerque, N.M. -- Fort Hays State University senior Darcie Schmitz won the women's long jump Friday at the NCAA Division II national indoor meet.
Schmitz, the Tigers' second indoor national champion in the last three years, won with a school-record jump of 19 feet, 9 1/2 inches.
On Saturday, Schmitz finished second in the triple jump, leaping 41-1 for another school record. Schmitz now is a four-time All-American; she won All-American honors in two events in the outdoor season last year.
Tiger junior Kelsey Martin finished 13th in the long jump, going 17-6 1/4.
Sophomore Morgan Witzel also competed, but did not record a height in the high jump.
Fort Hays State finished 11th in the women's team standings with 18 points, all by Schmitz.
