Tiger volleyball 0-4 in Hawaii

The Fort Hays State University volleyball team moved to 0-4 in the season-opening Hawaii tournament. Fort Hays lost to Lewis (Ill.) University 3-1 (25-16, 25-22, 24-26, 25-19) and lost 3-0 to Hawaii Pacific (25-19, 25-13, 25-19). Against Lewis, Madison Schwartz had nine kills and Jenna Ulrich and Taylor Mares collected eight kills apiece. Kelsey Broadwell led with 20 assists and Makenzie Weinman collected 13 digs.

In the second match, Fort Hays allowed a 10-5 run in the first set, a 9-1 run in the second set and a 7-0 run in the third set. Ulrich paced the team with 11 kills. Libby Ary tacked on 19 assists.
