HHS soccer picks up big road win

DODGE CITY — The Hays High School girls’ soccer team pulled out a come from behind road victory over Dodge City High School on Tuesday, winning 2-1 in overtime.
The Red Demons led 1-0 at halftime after their goal in the 27th minute. Indian senior Wendy Zimmerman scored her third goal of the season when she tied the game in the eighth minute of the second half, assist from Rachel Luedders.
The winning goal was scored by freshman Talyn Kleweno in the seventh minute of the first overtime period off a Brooke Russell corner kick.
The Indians are now 3-2 on the season, 1-0 in WAC play. They next play at Liberal on Thursday.
